Volunteering with Habitat

The Truman Chapter of Habitat for Humanity works with the Kirksville Chapter of Habitat to build and refurbish housing for low income members of the community. The Truman Chapter is primarily concerned with increasing awareness about the needs of the community, raising money, and providing an abundance of free labor at the building projects.

We are currently waiting to start work on house number 7, but there are also plenty of opportunities to get involved with one of our fundraisers. Come to one of our meetings and sign up to work! They will be held on Thursday nights at 8:00pm in Magruder Hall 1090. Meetings are not held every week, so be sure to check the news or events page to see the schedule.

If you have signed up to work but don't know the way to house 7, never fear! Directions from SUB: Take Franklin St. north towards Normal St. Turn left (west) on Normal and go to Elson. Head right (north) on Elson many, many blocks down to Mill St. IF YOU ARE DRIVING stay on Franklin until Elson becomes a two-way street. Once at Mill St. turn left (west). Two blocks down should be Don St. The house is on the northeast corner. Or take a look at the map and pick your own path to the house. (See "Map to Worksite" for more info)
